How to Schedule a Free Writer Coaching Session with Me

Over the course of my career, many writers have helped me out – job referrals, advice, a sympathetic ear, even helping me come up with the title to my new book, The Freelance Content Marketing Writer: Find Your Perfect Clients, Make Tons of Money and Build a Business You Love. I honestly would not be where I am in my career without the support and help from other writers.

I really believe that we need to view other writers as our colleagues, not our competition. There is plenty of work to go around for everyone. To pay it forward for all of the help I have received (and continue to get) over the years, I have a standing offer of one free 30-minute coaching session for any of my blog readers who want to grow their freelance writing business. I don’t sell anything to writers, other than my book, so you don’t have to worry that this is a bait-and-switch tactic. I just want to help you. Many writers that I have worked with go on to do some amazing things with their content marketing careers.

The only thing that I ask in return is that at some point in the future, you pay it forward by helping another writer – pass on a job lead that isn’t a fit for your skills, review a writer’s LOI, help a writer price a project, or help brainstorm solutions to an issue they are running into. If everyone helps each other, then it only strengthens our profession.

To make the process easier for me (and hopefully for you, too!), I’ve set up an online scheduling tool for anyone who wants to take advantage of my offer. All you have to do is follow this link, select one of the available time slots that works for your schedule, fill in a quick form, and we’re all set. I’ll call you at our appointment time and we can talk about your burning questions, your biggest anxieties, and whatever obstacles you think are keeping you from having a profitable business you love.

Please note: Because I do writer coaching sessions for free, I’m only able to offer a limited number of slots each month. Generally, I open up my calendar 30-60 days in advance, and the spaces fill up quickly. I may also need to reschedule a coaching session on occasion if there is a scheduling conflict I can’t work around. I trust that anyone who wants to take advantage of my free advice will also be understanding about this.

Wow, in the time I took to write an explanation of my interest, someone else snagged the only time available. You ARE popular!

    Sigh, maybe next time…

What I’d like to do is discuss a sustainable approach to pursuing new clients and regular assignment.

I want to sign up, but it seems you’re never free. I can’t find a single open slot this year.

      Hey there
I’m having the same issue. I looked over the next 52 weeks and nup, no spots. She’s one busy lady!
Might be because I’m based in Australia but I’m willing to do a pre-dawn call anytime.
Hope Jennifer can help … may be a waiting list is in order?

I love that you ask writers to pay it forward to strengthen our profession! Maybe I will schedule a call once my website is complete. (I know you’ve mentioned in other posts that you do this for writers, but I always felt too guilty to take any of your time! ) Thanks for all that you do for the writing community!

You’ve already helped me, Jennifer! And not that everyone reading your blog doesn’t already know how awesome you are, but just in case, “She’s awesome, everyone!” ;o)

I’ve been “paying it forward” myself lately. And it’s a great feeling!
