3 Places to Learn About Content Marketing

A few weeks ago, I answered the question “What is Content Marketing Writing?” in my post Content Marketing Writing 101. But my post really was just the penny answer to a $5 question. Whether you are just getting started in content marketing or have three dozen clips to your name, it’s important to continue learning about the field. With content marketing, the buzz words and trends are changing much faster than in traditional journalism.

Here are three of my favorite places to learn about and keep up to date on content marketing strategy:

1. Content Marketing Institute – If there is something you want to know about content marketing, you can most likely find it on this site. While the Content Marketing Institute website is primarily geared toward brands, content marketing writers can quickly gain a solid understanding of content marketing strategy and writing from following the blog. You can also sign up for one of the free webinars to stay on top of the latest trends and read white papers on the topic.

2. Copyblogger – This site provides great advice and content for writers of all specialties, especially content marketing writers. Recent articles related to content marketing include a case study about artists using content marketing , the Content Marketing Know-It All column and editing tips for content creators. But I have to say that some of the best information that I have gotten from the site came from the e-books on content marketing, especially “How to Create Content that Converts.” You have to register to view the books, but it is free and well worth the few minutes it takes.

3. #contentmarketing – I follow this Twitter hashtag for the latest articles on content marketing from a wide variety of bloggers, publications and brands. #content is also another good one to keep track of. I think it’s important to keep an eye out for new blogs and thought leaders who may not be featured on the main content marketing go-to sites.

What is the best article you have read lately on content marketing? What sites do you find helpful?
